Yuddha Bala

In this article, I will be writing about Yuddha Bala which is part of the topic of Shadbhala. Shadbhala represents 6 fold strengths of a graha. The shadbhala is divided into 6 parts which is known as Stana Bala, Dig Bala, Kala Bala, Drik Bala, Naisargika bala, Chestabala.

Out of this Kalabala (Temporal Strength) can be further sub divided into catergories such as Varshadi Balas (Varsha, Masa Dina and Hora Balas), Divaratri Bala, Paksha Bala, Thribhaga Bala, Ayana Bala, Yuddha Bala.

Planetary war takes place when 2 grahas are within 1 deg apart (In terms of Longitudes). The planet with the lower longitude is declared as the winner.

When 2 planets are in planetary war (Note: Sun and Moon do not get into a war with any other grahas).

To calculate:

  1. Find the Staana Bala, Dikbala & Kalabala (For Kala Bala only (1) Natonnata/divarathiri, (2) Paksha, (3) Tribhaga and (4) Varshadi Balas are included. But Ayana Bala is excluded.)

2. Add the Staana Bala + Dikbala + Kala Bala (Exclude Ayana Bala) together for planets in Planetary war.

3. Find the difference between the grahas. (The lower one must be subtracted from the greater one)

4. Find the difference between the Diameter discs based on the below table

Example: If war between Mars and Saturn. 158 – 9.4 = 148.6.

5. Value from step 3 ÷ Value from Step 4 = Resultant

6. Take the resultant from step 5 and for the victorious planet (Lower Longitude) add it to the Kala Bhala. For the vanquished planet, deduct from its kala bhala.

Note: Only the Tara Graha (Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn) get into war. Planets conjoining Surya get into Combustion and those conjoining Chandra get into Samagama.

Hi, welcome to my site on Vedic Astrology. Just a brief introduction about myself. My name is Dinesh and I was born in Singapore. I graduated from Nanyang Technological University Mechanical Engineering in and graduated with Second Upper Class Honours. I was also a recipient of a Marine Scholarship and started of my Career in the Marine field. In 2013, my parents had visited an Astrologer and upon returning home, they told me that the Astrologer had made accurate predictions on specific incidents based on my Eldest Brother’s life. I was initially surprised to know how can an Astrologer be able to make such accurate predictions even without knowing him personally. Then one day, I stumbled upon a Book (Fundamentals of Indian Astrology by Kannan). I was completely glued to the book and completed understanding the book within 2 weeks. I then started visiting Prominent Astrologers in Singapore & India (while i was there) and realized they were able to make accurate predictions about my life. Surprisingly, a few astrologers even predicted I will start reading horoscopes in the future. In retrospect, it is true. I then started reading books and articles on Astrology and eventually completed a certification in Astrology from Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi. I still do attend Distance Education courses whenever any renowned Institutions conduct Astrology Courses. Currently, I practice Astrology to spread the awareness that our Indian Forefathers have passed down to us and also aid people from various walks of life through Astrology. Vedic Astrology is a Gem that the Indian Sages propounded since ancient times. With this knowledge, one will be able to preempt the future and thereby take necessary actions to be cautious during adversities and be a risk taker during fortunate periods.
